Bringing together investment teams

Bringing together investment teams

One year on from IOOF and MLC coming together and becoming Insignia Financial, we are integrating the IOOF and MLC investment teams. This next step in our journey together is an important one for us as we continue to deliver for our clients and key stakeholders.

Bringing the teams together provides an opportunity to turn size into scale as we streamline and consolidate the product range, leverage skills and knowledge across the combined asset base. Through this approach, we have taken the time to deeply understand the investment capabilities of the two businesses and developed a simple model with two distinct investment streams.

The first investment stream brings our diversified multi-asset portfolios under a single Chief Investment Officer (CIO), allowing for dedicated focus on multi-asset strategies. The second stream separates out single strategies, directly managed such as, Antares Equities and Fixed Income, Property, managed accounts, and couples them with specialist investment services. These changes will provide clear accountabilities, governance, and alignment around investment outcomes.

We are pleased to share Dan Farmer has accepted the role of CIO, having been with IOOF since 2010 and with over 30 years of industry experience, he will continue to lead the team in delivering what really matters for our clients’ financial wellbeing. The second stream will be led by Jason Komadina, General Manager Direct Capabilities and Specialist Investment Services.

MLC CIO Jonathan Armitage will be leaving the business as he pursues the next stage of his career. We would like to thank him for his commitment and invaluable contribution over the past 11 years, helping to build a great team whilst delivering strong investment outcomes for our clients. Jonathan’s focus on attracting and developing investment talent has put us in a very strong position to develop and grow our business.
